According to Acts 17:11 " . . . the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."
Isn't that a nice thing to say about a church? Just as the Bereans were commended for their diligent study of Scriptures, we believe that it is very important for all Christians to be students (disciples) of the Bible. If you want to see the importance of knowing what the Bible teaches, see the article on my experience in a cult.
We agree with Paul when he wrote in II Tim 3:16 that the entire Bible (not just part of it) is inspired by God and that all of it is useful. So I believe that everyone should study ALL of the Bible.
Though many Christians will say that they believe that all of the Bible is inspired, many treat it as if it was junk mail; left unopened and unread.
This website was established as part of a non-denominational, non-profit, independent ministry in order to teach the Word of God and assist others in becoming self-learners. We will be teaching all sixty-six books, touch on basic doctrines of the Christian faith, apologetics and related subjects.
Through this website we hope to provide articles from our local Bible studies (I teach in Jasper, Indiana) as well as updates on my mission trips to Tanzania, Belarus and anywhere else I might travel to teach.
I hope this website is of value to those who really want to learn the Bible.
We are Christians from different denominational backgrounds.
Our mission statement is: We study the word of God and do the work of God.
Our focus is taken from:
We meet once a week for a casual meal, family Bible study and fellowship to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Heb. 10:24).
We collect items and fill shoe boxes to be distributed through Operation Christmas Child to children around the world with the Gospel (John 3:16).
Our time together focuses on study, ministry and encouraging one another. Discussions of controversial doctrinal or other issues are done in a respectful manner to maintain unity. “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity (Ps. 133:1).
We hope that as we go forward, we can be more efficient by delegating more tasks to others, removing unnecessary distractions, inviting more people to join us in using their gifts and talents and keeping our focus on our mission statement. (Neh. 6:3).
